EUSSIX INDEX
The EUSSIX, a directional index published on a weekly basis, is the result of aggregated freight rates for dry bulk cargoes transported in Europe and adjacent regions with vessels between 1,000-15,000 dwt.
Indices are one of the leading sources that market players in the global economy rely upon. Both general indices and special indices are plentiful. The challenge for many is to find the best, the most adequate and the perfectly attuned index to meet one's individual requirements. Shipbrokers, owners and charterers in the European coaster trades have been seeking exclusive information and insider tips from the market to help them make the best possible business decisions.
To meet the need for a comprehensive indicator of Europe's short sea market, BMTI has developed the "European Short Sea Index" or in abbreviated form "EUSSIX".
What does the EUSSIX illustrate ?
- Weighted inputs from four main trade regions of European short sea
- Based on current fixtures for a variety of commodities traded on different shipping routes
- The result is a market trend for short sea shipping as guiding information for market players
